Newsflash! Cutting-edge cognitive psychology and neuroscience herald a mind-boggling fact: your ‘self’ does not exist. It is, in fact, an illusion; a brilliant conjuring trick. With anecdotes, practical thought experiments and science, Professor Bruce Hood, Chair of Developmental Psychology at Bristol University and 2011 RiGB Christmas Lecturer, reveals this astonishing sleight of hand and what it means in our everyday lives. Are you ready to face the illusionary nature of the self?
